The spy shots just keep flowing in and the latest one to join the lot is the 2016 Audi A3 hatchback. Spy photographers have managed to capture the car in action in a wintery location.
Like many other automobile manufacturers, Audi is testing their cars in rough climatic conditions to ensure they provide optimal performance under pressure. The cold regions are considered the most efficient because they allow them to test engine power, stability on road, tire grip and even fuel efficiency when everything is running at full load.
It is much easier for these spy photographers to capture these cars in action because all they have to do is go to Sweden or any European location which is the favorite spot for auto manufacturers. Surprisingly, the A3 has not been fully camouflaged. The designers have somehow left majority of the hatchback open showing its actual design while the grille and the front portion is covered up.
They do have a reason for this because the 2016 edition of the A3 hardly has any major changes to go with. It is nearly identical to the earlier model in the rear portion, while the front has received minor modifications. The front grille has been made wider and the headlights are altered accordingly to match the change.
While it didn’t undergo any major changes in terms of design, the car’s interior matters the most. It is equipped with the Virtual Cockpit technology, a proprietary system Audi uses on all its latest launches. The addition provides much better control over the infotainment system, has GPS, touch controls, sensor based actions and a lot of other nifty features. It makes driving fun and doesn’t take the driver’s attention of the road when they have to change the channel or switch to a new song.
Apart from the hatchback version, Audi has confirmed that they will be launching a saloon and a convertible variant of the A3 variant as well. It will help them further expand the lineup and offer the buyers a wide range of choices to choose from. Spy photographs of the saloon were spotted last year. Audi could probably be getting ready to launch them all at once which is good news for those who love the A3.
If you are planning to buy one, you will have three different models with different powertrains. The final decision could be made based on the primary purpose as large vehicles are ideal for family drives while smaller ones are comfortable and commuter friendly.
