There is definitely a chance you have at least come across a 445 hp BMW 650i or better still, driven it.
While it is true to say that this model is quite an amazing drive with its turbocharged V8 that manages a solid torque of 480 lb-ft. you will definitely feel otherwise, when you come across the new 2016 BMW M6.
The new BMW M6 is equipped with a 4.4 liter twin turbo V8, however, this engine delivers more horsepower than the 650i, standing at 552hp and a torque of 502 lb-ft. There is also an optional Competition package that will leave with you 600hp. The good thing with the M6 is that you will get two transmissions, that is, the usual 6-speed manual transmission with a real clutch pedal and 7-speed automated manual. There is just a lot to this car than just what is under the hood. There is little to worry about as far as fuel consumption is concerned as the BMW M6 comes with a stop-start engine feature that aids in the consumption of fuel.
Just like any other 6 Series models, the 2016 BMW M6 is fit with a luxurious cabin that has been trimmed with the company’s high-end materials that include sun-reflective upholstery meant for the convertible.
Exterior design and options
If you want to get yourself one of the 2016 BMW M6 models, you can only get them in a single trim level. The M6 is available either as a convertible or a simple coupe. The later model is installed with a carbon-fiber roof, whereas the former is equipped with a power-controlled fabric top. In addition, this model comes with a heated glass window on the rear which can optionally be raised without raising the top just so as to help block wind.
Standard features of the M6 consist of 19-inch alloy wheels, an M-detailed front fascia, adaptive suspension dampers, automatic adaptive LED headlights, limited-slip differential, and heated power folding mirrors that also auto dim. Automatic wipers, LED taillights and fog lights, rear and front parking sensors, keyless entry and ignition, automated soft-close doors, ambient lighting, power adjustable steering wheel, dual zone auto climate control and 16-way power-heated front seats.
The M6 is packed with electronic features such as Bluetooth audio and phone connectivity, the iDrive interface, online services, a 10.2 inch internal display, integration with smartphone apps, rearview camera, 16 speaker surround system, HD and satellite radio, iPod/USB integration, voice controls and a navigation system that provides real time traffic data.
The door panels are slathered with high-end BMW materials and so is the dashboard. You will feel more intimate with this car when in the driver’s seat thanks to the center stack that curves towards you. The iDrive infotainment system is perfect for controlling the systems of the 2016 BMW M6. The front seats are adjustable, however, the back seat is nothing but snug, but don’t expect it to accommodate nothing much.
