2016 Cadillac CTS-V – Finally a Worthy Sedan Contender from Cadillac

The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V is just one of the contenders for the “Performance car of the year” category for the 2016 World Car of the Year award.

And frankly, the Cadillac might be the best car in the category. Competing with the likes of BMW M5 and Mercedes AMG C-63 coupe, the 2016 CTS-V has worthy rivals.

But what separates the Cadillac from the German contenders is that the 2016 CTS-V offers much better and fun driving experience. Given the fact that the Cadillac is much heavier than its contenders, it is a big achievement for the performance sedan.

One way that Cadillac has improved the aerodynamics and driving experience is by shedding some weight off the 2016 CTS-V. Thanks to the new chassis, the 2016 CTS-V is much lighter, and with magnetorheological shock absorbers, the performance car delivers driving experience for the ages.

The first generation of the CTS-V was refreshing and different from what we were used to seeing from Cadillac. However, it is the second generation that takes things up a notch and skyrockets the CTS-V among the best luxury performance sedans in the world.

As for the driving experience, there are several modes that drivers can use. But according to several test drivers, the best way to experience the CTS-V is let Cadillac do its magic. Go with automatic and do not experiment much, as you will end up noticing that the standard automatic mode is the best. Test drivers and race drivers all agree that the driving experience is exciting, and unlike any other performance luxury sedan.

Now let’s get to the fun part or what makes this car so great. It does not boast of a perfectly designed exterior, though fans do agree that the front grille looks awesome and the zillion of tech commands inside the dashboard appear impressive. It is all about power and the 2016 Cadillac CTS-V has plenty of it. Still with the 640hp V8 engine under the hood, the 2016 CTS-V is a legitimate 200mph luxury performance sedan. In fact, the car is clocked at 201.8mph, something that the vehicle can produce, thanks to the 640hp engine. Sprint time to 60mph is 3.7 seconds, and you will rarely need something faster. There is no manual transmission, but really, with such car you do not need it. In fact, the 2016 CTS-V is ridiculously smart, braking and accelerating at just the right time.

And the best part is the price. How can a car so beautifully and stylishly designed, with so much power, start at just $83,000? It is a valid question, but fans around the world would surely embrace the low price of the luxury performance car.
