The chrome look is still standard for the Silverado, but the front end is now more aggressive and muscular, something that we’ve grown accustomed to seeing from Chevy and its Camaro and Corvette.

This is the first time General Motors has refreshed the Silverado since 2013. Back then, the Silverado was a 2014 model year. According to sources, all pickups and trucks by GM will get redesigns by the end of 2018, when they will be shown as 2019 models. The 2016 Chevy Silverado is among the first in the list, but certainly not the last.

Inside, GM has placed several new features that increase the safety and the security of the Silverado. For starters, the pickup will get the MyLink system as an optional system that also includes Android Auto and Apple CarPlay support. Forward collision warning and lane departure assist are among the new safety features.

As for the exterior, we mentioned that the front end is more aggressive and that is all thanks to the new grille, hood, headlamps, taillights and much more. The biggest change is in the grille that now incorporates the headlights.

According to some reports, the entry model of the 2016 Chevy Silverado will be a 4.3-liter V6 engine producing 285 ponies under the hood. Other engine options include 5.3-liter V8 engine with 355hp and a 6.2-liter V8 engine producing 420hp.

The sales of the Silverado are up this year by 16.6% and with the new 2016 model, GM can expect even more success. Pricing is unknown at the moment, but sources say there won’t be huge spikes in the pricing, despite the added technology and new design. For comparison, the 2015 model of the Silverado cost $27,700, but that was a basic version with two-wheel drive and regular cab. The average price of the Silverado last year reached $37,000, around 2k less than competitors.
