The next generation edition 2016 Ford Focus RS: Subaru WRX STi is all set to reach the customers before which the company has already started testing it on real road conditions.
Automobile manufacturers have a concept of testing cars in multiple venues, especially in the region where they plan to launch it first.
The upcoming Subaru will be showcased for the first time at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. It’s going to be a really short wait before the show begins this month. It will be the first time buyers and car enthusiasts will be able to witness the 5-door hatchback in all its glory. Before its official reveal, some on-road images of the vehicle had been released online. The photos give a brief glimpse of the vehicle and its design features.
While Ford has used plenty of camouflage elements to ensure that the vehicle stays hidden, it is still possible to know what’s inside. Based on the picture, it is evident that the vehicle sports a C-shaped tail map. It was not found in the earlier editions but because of the camouflage, it is difficult to deduce the exact design of the lamp. The new design looks sharper yet curvy at once.
The rest of the vehicle is fully covered in the camouflaged design which makes it extremely difficult to sort it out. At the moment, there are sparse details available about the upcoming 2016 Ford Focus RS: Subaru WRX STi edition. It is expected to be powered by a 1.6 liter as well as a 2.0 liter petrol engine.
The vehicle will also be available in a superior sports hybrid edition. The special edition will be powered by a Direct Injection Turbo DIT boxer which is already being used in the earlier models. It will be rendering 170 PS with the 1.6 liter engine. The car will have a manual gearbox system and a Lineartronic CVT system is also expected to be bundled as one of the different variants available on launch.
While Ford is being tight lipped about their impending launch, inside sources confirm that after successfully launching the five door hatchback, the company has plans to come up with a sedan and a XV crossover model. The interesting of the lot is the WRX and the WRX STI versions which may get launched in the first quarter of 2016 before rolling out to buyers later on.
