Since the introduction of the Civic in 1972 for the US market, the small car has been one of the top selling cars on the market. Now, in its tenth generation, the 2016 Honda Civic looks to take over the market once again.
The new Civic will be introduced on September 16 during a special event on YouTube. There are several changes and promises with the 2016 Civic, starting from the new look that should be sportier, more dynamic, aggressive and youthful. Additionally, the 2016 Honda Civic is the first car for the US market by Honda that uses a turbo engine.
The completely new 10th generation of the Civic Sedan will be revealed live on YouTube, directly from the Space office in Los Angeles. The event is scheduled for September 16 at 6:15pm. The 2016 Honda Civic will be the first car that will be revealed from the YouTube Space in LA. The livestream will feature special appearances from the design team working on the 2016 Civic, as well as a special performance by the music band Night Riots, an alternative rock band.
The current Honda Civic has been a top selling compact car in the US since its introduction in 2012, but the company believes it is time for a change in the design to appeal to the young and dynamic generation.
Honda promises an infusion of sporty details in the design for all the models in the range. And while we cannot say for certainty how the new small sedan will look, we can be sure that it will draw inspiration from the green concept that Honda revealed a few months ago.
The lineup of the 2016 Civic will include a standard sedan vehicle, as well as a coupe and five-door hatchback. Honda expects to add a Si sporty variant and the Type-R performance car to the lineup sometimes in the future, but not immediately.
We do not know the engine power of the 2016 Civic, but we do know that the car will feature a 6-speed manual gearbox for transmission. The standard equipment will also include backup camera, EBS braking, ABS, touchscreen for personal connectivity and electronic ride stability. Prospective buyers can add CVT transmission as an optional package for higher trims.
The bottom line is simple, the 2016 Civic will offer much more than the current models in the entry level four door sedan market. Standard equipment is enhanced and with added performance, utility and design, you have a great value car for a price in the range of $19,000.
