2016 Toyota Prius Hybrid will Deliver Better Mileage and Comfortable Ride

The newest range of cars is being built on the Toyota’s New Global Architecture platform and it is expected to add a variety of features to all their latest vehicles.

With every brand renovating their range of cars, Toyota is busy revamping their own line-up. Compared to the past, the brand is going to give exceptional importance to plug-in hybrids as a result of which the 2016 Prius is expected to be much better than its past renditions. The TNGA architecture will play an integral role in allowing the hybrid car to offer better mileage. It will also have a significant impact on the car’s comfort level and interior spacing, while keeping the weight as low as possible.


The 2016 Toyota Prius hybrid is powered by a 1.8-liter VVT-I Atkinson cycle gasoline engine combined with an electric motor. The motor uses state-of-the-art nickel metal hydride and lithium ion batteries. The car uses a thermal efficiency system which Toyota confirmed is on par with the fuel economy offered by any diesel engine. In other words, the upcoming range of electric vehicles are going to pose a direct competition to diesel vehicles, because they are low on emission, being sold with low price tags and offer great fuel efficiency. Mileage is an important factor, which diverts the buyers from going for a gasoline car and to opt for a diesel one.

If automobile experts’ analysis is right, the future will be full of electric cars and surprisingly the future is not going to be in the next ten years, but rather in the next three to four years. Toyota has incorporated a wide range of changes into the 2016 Prius including the brand new Mirai fuel cell sedan. It uses hydrogen power to keep the battery charged and as expected doesn’t have any emission issues as it emits water during operation.


A dual cooling system has been used in the car which keeps the heat low allowing the engine to be 10% more fuel efficient. There’s the Transaxle coupled with the electric motor to add more stability to the car without adding up the weight. The battery in the 2016 Toyota Prius has been integrated below the rear seat. Users will have more legroom as well as cargo to store their luggage for long journeys.

Other additional features incorporated include the structural adhesives, laser screw welding and frames uniquely shaped to offer maximum grip for the Prius road. Toyota is off to a promising start in 2016 in the plug-in hybrid sector.
