Volkswagen is about to launch the new 2016 Beetle limited edition Denim convertible. The car is homage to the 1970s Jeans bug and features the original denim colored variant. Buyers who are interested in exclusive editions are sure to love this one because it looks classic and is priced right.
The brand has announced the official pricing for the vehicle. The 2016 Beetle Denim Convertible is priced at $26,815 in the United States. While it is slightly priced higher than the affordable range of cars, it comes with a couple of goodies to justify the price tag. The car features unique denim accents, stitching and badges in the interior cabin.
Powered by a 1.8-liter turbocharged inline four-cylinder engine, the Beetle has no variants from the standard model in terms of power. It uses the same engine delivering 170 horsepower and has 184 lb feet of torque. The variant uses six speed automatic transmission model and also happens to the second most affordable car in the Beetle lineup. It is conveniently priced to sit between the convertible and the SE trimline variants.
Only 2,000 such models will be produced. Buyers who are interested in purchasing the 2016 Volkswagen Beetle Denim convertible should probably pre-book the vehicle much earlier in order to avoid losing it to the crowd. There will mostly be no increased numbers and this is the only lot the brand plans to sell after which they will focus on the other existing models.
Out of the lot, 1000 of them will be of the stonewashed blue color depicting the denim jeans while the rest is white. The convertible top on all these models are painted dark blue to pay homage to the jeans and has a fabric like design. The model is equipped with 17-inch heritage wheels. As expected, the insides use denim colored seats. They are accentuated with dark blue leatherette and white piping.
The Beetle’s dashboard is painted blue with silver tones to achieve a metallic outlook. There’s a 5-inch touchscreen display to control the infotainment system, bluetooth connectivity, SD card slot, USB slot and rearview camera.
Volkswagen debuted the 2016 Beetle Denim at the Los Angeles auto show which is now all set to go on sale this year. Going by the limited numbers and the pricing, it could easily be sold out within days of launch. Beetle has a strong patronage among customers and the unique color just adds to its splendor.
