2016 Volkswagen Tiguan Studio Pictures Showcases Car’s Aesthetics

Volkswagen is working on a plug in hybrid version of the car, but the 2016 Tiguan with a conventional petrol engine is the one that will reach dealerships first.

The automobile manufacturer revealed the next gen SUV at the Frankfurt motor show. The auto expo which took place in the month of September housed some of the best commuter cars and concept models. After weeks since its original reveal, Volkswagen has released official studio pictures of the car. The photos are simply exotic without a doubt and showcase the design aesthetics of the vehicle in all its glory.

According to the company, the next gen Tiguan has better interior space. In other words, passengers will have amazing legroom and headroom allowing them to travel for long without discomfort. The ultimate goal of going for a large SUV or a crossover is to have enough space for yourself and the baggage. The brand claimed that they have accomplished it without compromising on the style quotient of the utility vehicle. It is also expected to be at least 25% more fuel efficient than the previous model.

Official specifications confirmed that the 2016 Volkswagen Tiguan is measured at 60mm longer and is 30mm wider when compared to its earlier model. The car has a wheelbase of 2681mm which is once again higher than its predecessor. The split fold rear seat has been redesigned in such a way that it offers more space for the passengers in every position. The cargo space is 615 liters which is a solid 145 liters more and if you can fold all the seats, the SUV can hold up to 1655 liters of luggage.

The diesel emission scandal is coming to a close, but that didn’t stop Volkswagen from going for a diesel variant of the Tiguan. The car has three different engine variants which offers 148 bhp to 217 bhp at the max. There are two different petrol variants including a 1.4 liter engine and a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine.

Engines which have lower power will rely on a front wheel drive system while powerful models will support four-wheel drive technology. The maximum towing capacity offered by the vehicle is 2500 kilograms which is applicable only for the variants with the highest engine power. A Tiguan GTA Plug-in hybrid is also incoming. The SUV was confirmed during the Frankfurt show and is expected to have an amazing range of 575 miles when combined with the petrol engine. We will see it soon!
