The new car has a price tag of $44,950 and it was already showcased at the Detroit auto show this year. Off-road capabilities are the most prominent feature of this new model. The 2017 Audi A4 Allroad is powered by a 2.0-liter turbo four engine which can produce up to 252 horsepower and has 273 lb feet of torque. It is mated to a seven speed S tronic dual clutch transmission system.

While the outgoing model features an eight speed transmission, Audi has decided to go for a seven speed one probably to increase its pulling capacity in rugged road conditions. The pricing is higher when compared to the 2016 edition. It is $1,300 more than the outgoing car and if you already own one, you can probably go for this because of the revamped features. For new buyers, there are plenty of new choices out there and Audi will have to compete with them all in order to pose itself as the best all-road wagon.

All 2017 Audi A4 Allroad cars are equipped with leather seats, panoramic sunroof, LED daytime running lights and automatic climate control compatible with three different zones. The basic features also include the new Audi pre sense basic sensing technology. Powered by this new tech, the wagon automatically adjusts the tension on the seat belts and the sharpness of the brakes in case of an imminent impact.

The Premium Plus trim is priced at $47,950 and the best in the class is the Prestige model priced at $52,350. It includes Audi Pre sense mounted on both the front and rear of the car as well as Audi side assist.

Ground clearance for the new Audi A4 Allroad is much higher at 34mm. It is equipped with underbody protection to withstand bumps, hill descent control, raised roof rails and also has an exclusive off-road driving mode. The mode switches the gear transmission and powertrain to deliver extra oomph factor making it easier to climb rugged or steep roads. The car would ideally suit the requirement of passengers who often find themselves going on adventure trips as it also includes a Quattro all-wheel drive system on all models, irrespective of the trimline you go for.  A higher cargo capacity ensures there is enough space for luggage.
