Chevrolet is getting ready to bring the 2017 Camaro ZL 1 convertible to buyers.
It arrives in early 2017 once the coupe hits dealership stores. The model has started off on an exciting note because drop tops are always great to look at which when combined with a cool design adds to its wow factor.
While drop top convertibles are not a great choice for people who live in harsh climatic conditions, it still continues to be a preferred choice for most. The cars are fun to drive and with the new electronic controls, all one has to do is push the button to raise or lower the top. The model from Chevrolet is quite passenger friendly and doesn’t demand you to stop the car. The convertible feature can be used when the car is on the go but the maximum speed limit supported is 30 miles per hour.
The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL 1 features a fully foldable top which when activated is stored inside the hard tonneau cover. It has a keyfob function making it easy to control the cover when it is not required. The ZL 1 officially debuted in the market this month. It is powered by a 6.2-liter supercharged V8 engine. A total of 640 horsepower is delivered by the car and it has 640 lb feet of torque. It is easily a powerful sports car designed for the average buyer who loves performance over fuel efficiency.
There are two different transmissions available to choose from. The standard is the six speed manual system while there is also an option to go with a ten speed automatic transmission system. The weight of the new Camaro is at least 200 pounds lesser than the outgoing model. While the engine is tweaked to offer the best performance, there is no improvement in the car’s capability to achieve 0 to 62 miles per hour. Acceleration still remains the same as the predecessor.
In terms of performance and design, the coupe and the upcoming convertible is quite similar. The 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL 1 convertible has been modified slightly in order to allow the car to support an open top design. The structures on the sides are modified in order to give it proper aerodynamics and stability on the road. An underbody racing system has been incorporated to sustain its handling capability, added the automobile manufacturer.
The cost and other features of the convertible version of the ZL 1 is yet to be announced. It goes on sale in the first half of 2017.
