The pricing for the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco has been announced.
The base model in the lineup has been priced at $21,485. The price includes destination charges of $825 making it an attractive deal that most buyers will usually go for.
Instead of focusing too much on design and speed, the Elantra Eco is a car made to offer the best of fuel efficiency. There are many automobile manufacturers who never compromise in terms of performance. However, Hyundai has always been a brand associated with customer friendly features such as headroom, space and fuel efficiency. The new Elantra is focused on the offering the best efficiency as rated by the EPA. The association has rated the car to offer 32 mpg in city, 40 mpg in highway while a combined efficiency is pegged at 35 miles per gallon.
With gasoline prices being extremely affordable in recent times, people who are not keen on paying a premium for electrified cars may go for the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Eco. Companies like Tesla, Nissan and Chevrolet are planning to bring cheaper EVs to the market. However, it will take another two years for these models to hit dealership stores. Those who are looking forward to buy a car immediately has no other choice but to go for the ones readily available.
The Elantra Eco is powered by a 1.4-liter turbo four cylinder which is capable of producing 128 horsepower with 156 lb feet of torque. The numbers are on the mediocre side but they usually satisfy the requirements of an average consumer. The engine uses a seven speed dual clutch transmission system. The top end of the lineup offers a more powerful 2.0-liter I4 engine which renders 147 horsepower with 132 lb feet of torque. It uses a six speed automatic transmission engine.
A list of standard features is found in the Eco version of the Elantra designed to woo its customers. It includes support for Android Auto and Apple Car Play connectivity features, front seats with heating capability, blind spot detection and dual zone climate control. The trunk has hands free opening system to easily store your baggage.These features are usually provided as an add-on in other variants of the car.
Apart from the Elantra Eco, Hyundai has plans to launch a GT hatchback and a sports version of the car. The Eco version is expected to hit stores this summer in all regions.
