2017 Hyundai Elantra Lineup Expanded With Performance Driven Variants

The latest 2017 Hyundai Elantra sedan has been added to the lineup which is now bigger and better with a whole lot of performance driven variants.

2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport Front

While most automobile brands are out to try sporty grille, a sharp looking front fascia and a different finish, Hyundai has decided to stick with the basics. The company didn’t make any drastic changes to their model. However, when you take a quick look at the Elantra 2017 edition, it does look sharp and the styling treatments are so good that most new generation buyers would enjoy buying one.

The Elantra Sport uses a set of unique design elements to set it apart from the base model. One noticeable change is the front grille which has been fully blacked out. The horizontal LED lights adorn the front fascia which is combined with unique alloy wheels, dual exhaust ports and a headlight cluster.

On the inside, the 2017 Hyundai Elantra Sport features a flat bottom steering wheel. The particular design has been considered comfortable by most which is why the brand decided to go for it in a sporty model. The sporty variant is carried out in the form of the red accents used in the seats and the logo Sport has been duly embroidered in the back of the seats to showcase its exclusivity.

A 1.6-liter turbo four rated engine is used to power up the Elantra Sport model. It is capable of delivering a total of 200 horsepower combined with 190 lb feet of torque. The powertrain is mated to a six speed manual transmission engine. Buyers have the option to upgrade their model to a dual clutch seven speed automatic gearbox if they like to. Instead of the torsion beam setup used in the SE and ECO models, Hyundai has opted for an independent rear suspension system with the Elantra Sport.

“The Elantra Sport stands proof stands proof to the work our team has put into it. We wanted to create a compelling vehicle which syncs with what our buyers want and the best the engineering team could deliver. The Sport will be a worthy addition,”commented Mike Evanoff during the release.

Whenever Hyundai stepped into the enthusiastic market, they have had very little response from the buyers. The 2017 Elantra Sport is supposed to change it for the company for good. More details on its pricing and release date will be out on a later date.
