The 2017 Kia Sportage crossover is ready to hit the showrooms and on the eve of its launch, the brand has officially launched all the necessary information a buyer should know.
Right from the types of powertrains available, their pricing, specifications and available are known which should make it easier for those of you who are planning to buy a Sportage in the near future.
The basic variant to hit the dealership stores is the 2017 Sportage LX powered by a front-wheel drive system. The pricing of the car has been confirmed to be $23,885 which is $840 more than the previous generation vehicle. However, given the fact that the company has integrated a lot of new features and additional comfort to make the revamped model noteworthy, it is a meager price to pay.
There are multiple variants available with the Sportage series, including the basic LX, the EX and the SX Turbo each with its own set of components. Both the LX and the EX models are powered by a 2.4-liter inline four-cylinder engine delivering 181 horsepower and 175 lb feet of torque. If you are looking for more transmission options, it might be slightly disappointing to know that the car uses a six-speed automatic transmission by default and there are no other options available to choose from.
Features included in the LX model are 17-inch wheels, Bluetooth connectivity, rear camera display to aid in parking and a large infotainment center console with touchscreen capabilities. The car has keyless entry by default, while the company also offers a LX popular package priced at $1,100 to add heated front seats. By paying $900 to opt for the LX Cool and Connected package, buyers can get Apple CarPlay support, 7-inch touch display and dual zone climate control features.
The EX is a bumped variant of the 2017 Kia Sportage. It has all the basic and luxury features found in the lower end LX because the pricing is higher at $26,395. Additional features include leather seats, push button start and 18-inch wheels. EX has its own premium package at $1,900 and Technology pack at $2,700 for better music system if you prefer so.
Completing the list is the 2017 Kia Sportage SX Turbo model priced at $33,395 with a 2.0-liter engine delivering 240 horsepower and 260 lb feet of torque. Buyers can choose to add an all-wheel drive to any model by paying an added price tag of $1,500.
