With just one month before its official launch, the auto brand has given buyers a glimpse of what they could expect on launch date.

The upcoming model is the fifth generation Discovery and it is not just an all-rounder but Land Rover is promoting the SUV as one of the most elite versions of the series to hit stores. It should be available for purchase from the first half of 2017. Official pricing has not been confirmed by the brand but it is expected to be somewhere around £45,000.

“The new 2017 Land Rover Discovery is combining the best desirability the British has to offer with a spirit of adventure like never before. We are about to set a new benchmark in the segment with the new level of luxury offered in the car,” commented JLR.

The teaser image showcases a front fascia which is found in all Discovery Sport cars. The change that the team has opted for is to give a wider stance for the car which adds up to the interior space. The air intakes have a sharp finish with a lower scuff plate, all of which contributes to an athletic, rugged look to the car. The front grille is exactly like the one found in the Sport but it is not something we could complain about. However, the shape of the LED headlights had been altered and it will be carried out in all upcoming models.

In the teaser image, we could make out the front of the car but the rear is kept hidden. A couple of spy shots that emerged earlier gave an idea of how the rear end of the 2017 Land Rover Discovery would look like. A single piece design is being used by the engineers which ends with an extendable boot floor.

Speaking in detail about the new Discovery, Gerry McGovern, design chief at Land Rover said, “We are highly confident that the next generation Discovery has the capability to redefine the large SUV category. The Discovery DNA has been totally revolutionized from the ground up to create a premium SUV. It’s highly versatile, desirable and has great power output.”
