Mercedes Benz has released a new teaser video for the GLC Coupe. The car is scheduled to get launched in the New York auto expo.
The concept version of the model was already showcased at the Shanghai auto show last year. It is designed to compete against the BMW X4.
The teaser video is short with a run time of twenty-five seconds but reveals a lot of important features about the upcoming GLC Coupe. It shows the car in all its glory except for the rear end which has been camouflaged. The car is driven on a closed course to showcase its performance on road including power sliding and impressive high speed run on wet pavement without losing its stability.
Overall design of the GLC Coupe is very similar to the GLE Coupe but it looks smaller in size and compact for those who like to enjoy driving a compact crossover. While the company has not officially announced the engine used in the car, the video teases us with its sounds. Car enthusiasts who are capable of finding the power train by simply listening to its sounds claimed that the 2017 Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe is equipped with a 3.0-liter twin turbocharged V6 engine capable of rendering 362 horsepower.
Another variant of the new GLC Coupe is expected to be powered by a 2.0-liter twin turbo V6 engine with 241 horsepower and the pricing of this particular model could be lower when compared to the other one. The car uses nine-speed automatic transmission which is probably the only gearbox offered by the company. There seems to be no word on allowing buyers to upgrade it to something else. The elite variant in the GLC Coupe should be the AMG designed model with a twin turbo V-8 engine. It completes the lineup offering a model for each customer with varying requirements.
Just a week ago, the Mercedes Benz GLC Coupe was spotted winter testing at different locations but they were tightly camouflaged giving very little idea to us. However, it is anticipated to be the other two models scheduled for launch at the New York auto expo.
The model is expected to go on sale in the first quarter of 2017. The production version of the car will be showcased at the NY expo scheduled to take place by the end of this month. We will be there to cover it and bring all the details as it happens.
