The Peugeot 2008 is getting revamped with a complete facelift and the car is heading to the Geneva motor show next month. Instead of going with a new launch, the brand has decided to launch a revised version of the existing SUV model.
Compared to the 2008 model, the new 2017 Peugeot is extremely compact and sleek in looks. Charming crossovers are beloved by people in the commuters’ segment as it makes life easy for them to go to office or a long trip with the family. The new car aims to satisfy and offer the best of both worlds. It includes a new grille, bonnet and fascia to achieve the trendy exterior. While the basic models lack some of these features, the high end variant of the SUV has plastic wheel arch to give it an off-road appeal and LED light tubes with enhanced graphics in the rear.
The promoted color variant is red accentuated with black lines along the sides. It is the GT line trim as confirmed by the company. The 2017 Peugeot 2008 is powered by a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine. The car can be purchased either with a five-speed manual or a five-speed automatic transmission system. The turbo-charged models with increased horsepower and speed will also be available on launch.
The entire lineup of the SUVs will be using a front wheel drive system. The car has a powerful infotainment system which supports both Android Auto and Apple CarPlay allowing users to stay connected with the latest entertainment on the go. It has a 7-inch touchscreen display. Safety features found in the car includes parking assist, active city brake and a rear view camera for drivers who find it tough to maneuver their vehicles in crooked corners.
A wide range of changes have undergone to make the 2017 Peugeot 2008 matter to the modern day crowd despite the basic car being the same. The overall seating capacity has been increased from 350 to 410 liters while the total volume of the car with the seats lowered is extremely high at 1,400 liters despite looking sleek and convenient to drive.
The brand will launch the car officially at the Geneva motor show after which we will know the launch schedule, pricing and other specifications. Trim line variants are expected to vary according to the region and the same goes for pricing as well. The launch date for the SUV will also be announced at the show.
