The next gen Skoda Octavia has arrived! With all-new style tweaks, upgrades and a sporty finish, the 2017 edition is ready to rock the market one more time.
For the newest edition, Skoda has updated their model with a powerful infotainment system. A couple of interior changes are made to the model. The 2017 Skoda Octavia is priced at £17,000 in the UK region and will be available in stores in the month of February next year. It will be available as a hatchback and an estate edition to compete with models from Volkswagen and Vauxhall.
The Octavia is still constructed on top of the MQB platform designed by the Volkswagen group which ensures that the wheelbase and dimensions of the model remains the same. It might constrain the designers from making drastic changes but they probably have done their best within the space available. With the latest edition, the car now has a three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine.
The front fascia of the car has undergone some notable changes including split headlights, seamless grille and sleek edges adding up to the compact form factor. The lower bumper on the rear has been moved below to give a better finish to the car and make the vehicle look wider than it already is.
Powertrain options to be offered include a 1.0-liter turbo engine with 114 horsepower and another 1.4-liter turbo engine that renders up to 148 horsepower. The brand also allows buyers to pick from two different diesel engine variants. The Scout and VRS edition of the car with powerful, performance driven launches will take place once the base models are out in dealership stores.
Some internal tweaks ensure passengers experience a comfortable ride in the 2017 Skoda Octavia. It includes a large 9.2-inch display infotainment system combined with SIM card module for internet access on the go. The car is designed with the virtual cockpit system providing complete access to the driver and allowing one to modify all the features as they want it to be.
A range of safety features are incorporated in the car including trailer assist, towing system, automatic parking sensors and incoming traffic warning. The total storage capacity is at 590 liters with the rear seats in place and when they are folded, you can easily get up to 1,580 liters. The car will be available in UK stores from February, 2017 onwards and pricing will be quite similar to the outgoing model.
