The auto manufacturer has announced the new refreshed 2017 Subaru BRZ and the car comes with a host of new features designed to impress the buyer.
The list is long with upgraded headlights and taillights with LED technology, improved suspension system for uncompromised support, large stabilizer bar in the rear, updated springs, hill start assist for slope driving, dampeners and chassis reinforcement to provide best security for the entire family. The rear wheels use new housing allowing the driver to experience better control and rigidity in their path.
Similar to the 86 twin, the 2017 Subaru BRZ is powered by a 2.0-liter flat four engine. The tweaked version of the powertrain provides a slightly increased performance pegged at 205 horsepower coupled with 156 lb feet of torque. The base model uses a standard six speed manual gearbox system. Buyers can choose to upgrade their BRZ to an automatic six speed transmission if they choose to.
Apart from these features and add-ons which are available by default on all models, the auto manufacturer Subaru has introduced a new performance package. The pack demands additional costs but it seems to be a worthy addition because of the bundle of items included in it. The package adds new controls mounted on the steering wheel for easy access to the infotainment system, rear spoiler, 17-inch aluminum wheels. The limited trim variant with the performance package includes 4.2-inch LCD display, Alcantara leather upholstery, dual zone climate control, easy keyless entry and start coupled with heated front seats.
The large screen is capable of providing multiple information at once. It displays the steering wheel angle, oil, water temperature, accelerator pedal position, braking force and integrated stop watch. Compared to autonomous driving technology, these features may not be ground breaking or innovative but they are definitely a cheaper but efficient addition for all 2017 Subaru BRZ owners.
A larger 6.2-inch screen is found in the car which integrates with all major smartphone platforms. A brand new website has been launched by Subaru where customers can place their orders for the new model and customize them to meet individual requirement. The BRZ 2017 edition is expected to go on sale by the end of 2017 after which the special performance package will be rolled out.
There is no word on the pricing of the renewed version of the BRZ. We expect the pricing for the performance package to be announced once the initial launch takes place.
