As soon as a new model is announced, car enthusiasts and buyers tend to focus on the engine and its performance capabilities.
Most brands do focus on design aspects and try to change its looks from the outgoing model, but the primary focus will be on its engine performance. They don’t have much of a choice because what customers want is more important than what they like to do with a new car. The upcoming 2017 Subaru Impreza showcased at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show is the exact opposite. The brand didn’t give into such perennial demands and confirmed that the newest car is going to be all about the design.
The design aesthetics used in the new Impreza is dynamic, sporty and fun. It is the blueprint for every other model that is going to get launched in the next two years, according to Subaru. Such a pattern is followed by every other manufacturer, but it is the people who don’t spend enough time to notice it. Models from Porsche, BMW, Audi and Mercedes Benz look the same to us because they use the base design for every car irrespective of the year it gets launched.
The 2017 Subaru Impreza is taking a big leap into the world of modular platform for the first time. “It’s a dynamic and solid design that we are working at”, said the representatives during the auto expo reveal. Its newest design makes the car much bigger than it used to be, with narrowed headlights and a bodyline that sports strongly creased lines. On the front, you will find a black grill cut into a polygonal shape associated with Subaru for a long time. It has been retained in the 2017 model.
Its height is similar to the hatchback model while the width has been boosted at least by 5.5 inches. Subaru’s engineers call it wide and low to render the car a powerful, meaner looking appearance when on the road. The car is not a concept, but it is yet to reach its production design. The brand confirmed that they are looking forward to show the version of the car set to hit dealerships next year in a popular auto expo.
The 2017 Subaru Impreza is aimed at achieving excellent aerodynamics but details related to its powertrain turbocharged engine system remains sparse. They are probably not going to focus much on its horsepower, but more on the design aspect.
