2017 Volkswagen Atlas Revealed, a 7-Seater SUV for the U.S. Buyers

The 2017 Volkswagen Atlas is a groundbreaking launch in the United States, as the automobile brand aims to change its past mistakes by offering a noteworthy launch.

Based on information revealed by inside sources, the car will have 5,037 mm length and 1,979 mm wide. The new Atlas SUV is being built on top of the MQB platform. While it is proven to be one of the best chassis to go for, the designing team might have to make a lot of changes to allow a 7-seater cabin to be mounted on top of it. The front fascia is dominated by a large chrome front grille which seamlessly integrates into LED headlights.

Volkswagen claims that all seven passengers inside the car will have enough legroom and the seats on the last row are accessed through a folding mechanism. The child seats can be used even when the rearmost seats are open, offering great advantage for the entire family. The rest of the car is very similar to other Volkswagen offerings. People who already own a VW car will find it easy to accommodate themselves to the design.

Infotainment system in the 2017 Volkswagen Atlas SUV is powered by the Car Net System. The highly versatile system supports all connectivity options including Android Auto, Apple Car Play and MirrorLink tech. Immersive audio experience is delivered by the a 12-speaker surround sound system provided by Fender audio system. Volkswagen’s proprietary digital cockpit will be used in the car. It makes it easy for the passenger to customize the infotainment setup as required.

The auto brand is planning to offer two different powertrains for the car. The first one would be a 2.0-liter direct injection turbo petrol and a more powerful 3.6-liter six-cylinder engine. The former can render up to 234 horsepower while the more potent engine will deliver about 275 horsepower. Volkswagen added that they are looking forward to price it in such a way that it grabs the attention of its potential audience.
