Volkswagen is preparing to revamp is existing line up and one of the important upcoming launches is the 2017 Touareg ready to refreshed with brand a new look.
Spy photos of the car has emerged online giving us a glimpse of how the prototype would look like. The production version of the 2017 Volkswagen Touareg is expected to be really similar to the XC60 Volvo concept displayed at the Beijing motor show this year. The front and rear end is heavily camouflaged. It makes it tough to see how the model looks but based on the Volvo design, we can be sure that there aren’t any radical changes to be done in the next gen Touareg.
The front fascia of the car is equipped with a huge chrome plate grille, has aggressive running lights and sporty looks made to attract young buyers. A dynamic design is what Volkswagen is aiming to achieve with the new car. The Touareg models have been selling less every year and it was expected to be completely shut down. However, before going for the final decision the automobile brand has decided to give it a shot and explore it further by launching an overhauled next gen version.
On the inside, the dashboard is pretty luxurious with an exceptionally large 15-inch display. The infotainment system is easy to control and is of the size of any mid-range laptop in the market. We are not entirely sure about why the 2017 Volkswagen Touareg needs such a display. The engineers opine that it makes it easier for the driver to instantly spot the function he or she needs and activate it.
The car is being built on the new MLB architecture developed specifically for the Volkswagen brand. It has led to significant bump in the leg room available in the wagon. The rear cabin has a large two seat format with enough space in the while the other seats are placed a few inches away from the middle line. It gives complete access to the center console and view it from a distance. There is no plan to integrate additional screens as the team feels people have large smartphones and tablets which should be more than enough to fulfil their entertainment needs on the go.
The 2017 Volkswagen Touareg is coming to Europe and Asia on launch. The company does have planned to bring it to UK, US among other regions. It might take some time so that they could make changes to comply with emission regulations before the model is launched.
