Hyundai had earlier shared details about the production and powertrain of the upcoming 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric.
The Korean automaker has now revealed in more details pertaining to the US availability, preliminary range estimates and a few other specifications.
2024 Hyundai Kona Electric Exteriors and Interiors
The new Hyundai Kona Electric will sport an aerodynamic profile and clean surfacing. On the outside, the car will incorporate a split headlamp design with full-width LED DRLs. It will also deploy the parametric design theme of the manufacturer’s Ioniq 5 as well as sculpted wheel arches. The front grille is expected to be less pronounced than before.

For the inside, the car will have a floating horizontal C-pad and a couple of 12.3-inch panoramic screens for infotainment and the gauge cluster. One of these screens will be positioned ahead of the driver while the other will be mounted on the center console. There will also be a new charging port door lamp to ease the nighttime charging. The front seats will be slimmer than before to account for more legroom in the rear. There will be active grill shutters for enhanced airflow when the car is closed, body-colored interior accents and ambient lighting.
Hyundai Kona Electric Powertrain Specifications
The 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric will ride on the manufacturer’s revised K3 platform. The car will support two battery options. Customers can take their pick from either a large 64.8kWh battery or a standard 48.6kWh battery.
The larger battery will be incorporated in the long-range vehicle and is slated to deliver a 260-mile range. The electric motor mounted on the front axle will deliver 201 HP output power and 188 lb-ft. torque. The charging time will also portray a slight improvement with the battery attaining 10% to 80% SoC in just 43 minutes with Level 3 400 VDC charging.
On the other hand, the standard range variant will deliver an estimated 197-mile range. The output power is expected to be 133 HP while the torque will be the same 188 lb-ft.
What is the price of the Hyundai Kona Electric?
Hyundai is expected to announce the prices closer to the availability date. However, talks are that the manufacturer will charge a price of $2,000 higher than the 2023 model and the car will be available at a starting price of less than $40,000.

What is the size of the Hyundai Kona Electric?
The new Hyundai Kona Electric will be longer and wider than the outgoing model. The car will have a length of 171.5 inches, a height of 62.2 inches and a width of 71.9 inches. The wheelbase will also be more enlarged than before.
When will the 2024 Hyundai Kona Electric be available?
The Hyundai Kona Electric can be ordered through dealers in late Fall of 2023. The cars for the North American market will be manufactured at the manufacturer’s plant in Ulsan, South Korea while those for the European market will be produced at the manufacturer’s Nošovice plant in Czechia.
