Automaker Volkswagen is working towards the launch of its upcoming electric 2024 Volkswagen ID.3 GTX hot hatch as a performance range top topper.
A prototype of the car was recently spotted in this regard. Interestingly, the GTX term represents the manufacturer’s most powerful ID family of all-wheel drive electric vehicles.
2024 Volkswagen ID.3 GTX Exteriors and Interiors
The new Volkswagen ID.3 GTX prototype, at first sight, looks very much like the manufacturer’s regular ID.3. However, the front fascia resembles that of what is found on the GTX counterparts of the ID.4 and ID.5 crossovers. The front bumper will have a sporty look and feature a unique mesh intake. The car will house aerodynamically optimized wheels and a lowered ride height at the back. The rear will also encompass a slight revision along with a sporty diffuser. There will also be a slightly lowered suspension as well as a new rocker panel with front and rear protrusions.
No confirmed details about the ID.3 GTX are available at the moment. However, the car is expected to incorporate a 12-inch infotainment system and a 5.3-inch digital instrument cluster. It is likely that the manufacturer will incorporate a couple of special touches like black and red accents.
Volkswagen ID.3 GTX Powertrain Specifications
The 2024 Volkswagen ID.3 GTX prototype depicts torque sensors fitted on all wheels for testing. This indicates that the final car will be an all-wheel drive model. The manufacturer has kept details of the battery and the motor under wraps.
However, it is expected that the car will incorporate a dual-motor setup. The motors in combination are likely to deliver 295 HP output torque and 339 lb-ft. torque. This is the setup that Volkswagen has opted for in its ID.4 and ID.5 GTX counterparts. It is also quite likely that the manufacturer will opt for a big 77kWh battery with close to 310 miles WLTP range.

What is the price of the Volkswagen ID.3 GTX?
The Volkswagen ID.3 GTX is slated to be priced at around 50,000 euros. This is slightly over $53,5000.
Will the Volkswagen ID.3 GTX be available in the United States?
It is not likely that the Volkswagen ID.3 will be available in the United States. This is not surprising as the manufacturer did not introduce earlier GTX models as well in the US market.

When will the 2024 Volkswagen ID.3 GTX be released?
The Volkswagen ID.3 GTX is anticipated to make its debut and be available for sale in the first half of 2024 after the 2023 ID.3. Following the grand premiere of the 2023 Munich Auto Show in September this year, production will commence at the manufacturer’s Zwickau factory in Germany.
