Luxury automaker BMW is set to launch its second generation 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe in a year from now.
The car, with the codename F74, draws its inspiration majorly from its predecessor, although there a few prominent changes. The manufacturer also has plans to release an extended wheelbase edition codenamed the F78 for the Chinese market.
2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Exteriors
The front fascia of the new BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will sport a more defined look than its predecessor. This is primarily because of the headlights that are adapted from those in the manufacturer’s BMW i5 model. The car will not have the standard massive kidney grilles that BMW has in most of its cars. The smallest sedan from the manufacturer will have quad tailpipes that is usually reserved for full M cars.

The base model will come with 18-inch wheels as standard and customers will be able to opt for 19-inch wheels if they want. Similarly, the car will also support an illuminated grille as an option that is usually available for more expensive and larger cars from the manufacturer. At the rear, the car will have the elements of both a four-door coupe and a hatchback.
BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe Engine Specifications
The upcoming 2025 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will ride on the UKL2/FAAR platform with a front-wheel drive like the earlier model. Under the hood, the sedan will house an updated B48 turbocharged 2.0-liter gas engine that delivers 312 HP similar to that of the X1 M35i. The car will also incorporate an automatic dual-clutch transmission. The range-topping model will support manual gear changes using paddle shifters.

The BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe will be a four-door sedan. The car will be able to seat five people comfortably with two passengers in the front and three passengers at the back.

The manufacturer will unveil its BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe in the Summer of 2024 and be available in the market in 2025. Production is expected to commence in November 2024.
