The Giulia is yet to find its way to many regions but Alfa Romeo has already started working on ways to expanding the midsized sedan lineup with new models.
The first of many, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce is about to hit the show floor at the Paris Auto Expo where the brand is expected to reveal its availability and pricing. We do have information on the features found in the car. It includes a lot of visual cues and style upgrades that would be an appealing factor to sports car lovers.
A number of subtle changes are done to the exterior of the model including brand new bumpers, rear extractor, and a glossy finish for the black door trim. The car now has two exhaust pipes which not only plays an integral role in boosting its performance but also looks stylish. The base model will be sold in a Blue Misano paint job.
The Blue Misano is what Alfa Romeo plans to showcase at the Paris auto expo. Other notable features in the model include black leather sport seats, a dedicated sporty steering wheel, aluminum accents on the dashboard coupled with a gloss finish on the gear. They might be annoying to some as finger print accumulation is high on glossy areas but if you are keen on looks, this is the way to go.
The performance of the new Alfa Romeo Giulia Veloce will not be higher than the Quadrifoglio but is good in its own respect. The car is powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that can produce up to 280 horsepower combined with 295 lb feet of torque. Another engine variant provided by the brand is a 2.2-liter turbodiesel engine that delivers 210 horsepower with 347 lb feet of torque.
Diesel cars are not such a popular choice in the United States and they may not find their way to stores in the country. But, they are still wanted in parts of Europe and UK which continues to encourage automobile vendors to produce them in all their latest models. The new Veloce will use an automatic transmission duly powered by an all-wheel drive setup.
Alfa Romeo confirmed that they are building a “AE” variant of the Giulia set to be out next year. The company has multiple cars lined up scheduled to get launched in the next year or so. Meanwhile, the Paris show will witness the prominent presence of the brand.
