Spurred on by the triumph at the 67th Primetime Emmy Awards, Amazon is offering its Prime membership at a heavily discounted rate of $67 instead of the regular rate of $99.
This window of opportunity is available for 24 hours only between 12:00 a.m. ET until 11:59 p.m. PT on September 25.
The drop of $32 for the annual membership is expected to entice more subscribers to join in the network. The $99 price tag has remained for some time now for Amazon Prime, which is being seen as a huge deterrent to subscribers when they compare the prices of other streaming services such as Hulu Plus and Netflix.
Although while calculating the basic cost of the three services is nearly the same, the monthly payout is easier to budget than an annual payout. Still, Amazon Prime offers a few extra advantages as compared to the other streaming services which could be worth the cost.
The streaming content on Amazon Prime is considered to be one of the best available. The expanding library includes original series ranging from comedy to drama to children’s programs. Prime library also has a host of ever-popular award-winning HBO shows, which are not available anywhere else online. With this feature, HBO fans can catch up on their favorite series without having to purchase DVDs or paying the monthly fees for HBO Now.
In addition to the TV series, both blockbuster and obscure films can easily be found in the huge Prime film catalogue. Popular franchises including Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle, Transformers, The Hunger Games and Star Trek are available on Prime. Unusual standalones including I am Big Bird and Space Jam are also part of the Prime library.
Membership to Prime also offers other Amazon benefits including unlimited free 2-day shipping on over 20 million items, a big bonanza for regular online shoppers. The streaming service also offers more than a million songs that can be freely streamed. Additionally, Prime subscribers also get unlimited photo storage option.
