Atieva Atvus EV is Coming in 2018 to Beat Tesla Cars

The year 2018 is going to be crowded with electric vehicles from all corners and the Atieva Atvus EV could be one among many ready to beat Tesla in its own game.

Tesla entered the electric vehicle market with Model S sedan and moved onto a SUV. They also announced the Model 3 priced at $35,000 and the car is currently sold out. Almost everyone interested in moving into the electric ecosystem could go with a Tesla car as the company has been doing it right for a couple of years now. Obviously, competitors from big players like Nissan, Chevrolet, BMW is emerging along with names like the Atieva Atvus.

Atieva is a little known name in the world of automobiles but the manufacturer is confident that they come up with an impressive electric car. The Atvus sedan which is a fully electric car was registered in the publicly filed documents. It was found by the group at Recode. The brand new name Atieva is a company that comes from the silicon valley, the place where technology companies like Google and Microsoft thrive. They are not alone as sources confirmed that the brand is supported with investments from Faraday Future and a Chinese billionaire.

The automobile brand has already started testing its prototype on the Mercedes Benz Vito van. The model has been named the Edna and has been revealed in three different videos posted on Youtube. The car was pitted against some of the fastest drag racing models in the world including the Nissan GT-R, Tesla Model S and the Dodge Viper.

Based on the videos, it was confirmed that the prototype Edna was capable of accelerating from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 2.5 seconds. The upcoming Atvus EV is however is a completely different car even though it may borrow power train, design among other elements from the Edna. An all-wheel drive version of the upcoming electric sedan is rumoured to deliver nearly 900 horsepower, making it an extremely powerful car and when it runs all-electric, it has the potential to grab the attention of people who are interested in this emerging technology.

Bringing the model into dealership stores is no easy task as Tesla, despite the huge backing delayed it a lot before their cars hit the streets. Atieva Atvus has two whole years before the EV is available for buyers. At least, 130,000 units are expected to be shipped with its first lot.
