Just a day ago, the company officially announced the BMW M2 and the X4 M40i at the Detroit Auto Show 2016. While the brand unveiled the cars and their specifications, they refrained from talking about the pricing.
One of the models is scheduled for launch in the month of February which is days to go. BMW announced that they will be making the price official close to the release date. Much to the delight of buyers who were considering to buy the M2 or the X4 M40i, they have confirmed the pricing of multiple trim line variants that will be made available.
When it hits dealership stores, the BMW M2 will be priced at a moderate $52,695 which includes the deliver charges. The pricing is very similar to the Porsche Cayman and is at least $7k higher than the M235i from BMW. An increase in overall pricing obviously leads to better performance and comfort. The model is powered by a 3.0-liter turbocharged six speed engine. It is capable of rendering 365 horsepower and 343 pound feet of torque.
The M2 will easily reach from 0 to 60 miles per hour in just 4.2 seconds with a maximum top speed of 155 miles per hour. For people who doesn’t need more space and are good to go with two door models, BMW offers the X4 M40i. The car is priced at $58,795 including delivery charges. It is capable of rendering 355 horsepower with a turbocharged six-cylinder engine with 343 lb feet of torque. It can easily hit the 0 to 60 miles per hour speed in 4.7 seconds.
The M40i has a top speed of 150 miles per hour as confirmed by BMW in their official press statement. Some of the features unique to the model include an exterior chassis which has been meticulously tuned to meet the M performance specifications. The car is also integrated with BMW Connected Drive technology, xDrive system and Twinscroll turbo technology.
While it is good to know the pricing of the models, the only problem is that BMW failed to announce the pricing of the different trim line variants available. They have announced only the pricing of the top line of the models available, but not the other variants. It is somewhat of a disappointment for those who were planning to opt for the cheaper version of the M2 or the M40i. Otherwise, the pricing is more in the expected range.
