The BMW M2 Coupe is coming! It is known for a while, but the company has officially confirmed the pricing and the different variants that will be available on launch.
When it launches, the M2 is going to be a competitive car to beat the likes of Mercedes AMG CLA45 and the Audi RS3. The vehicle will be landing in dealership stores in 2016. It is being touted as the spiritual successor to the E30 M3.
On the inside, the car will be powered by a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine which will pump out 500Nm torque and 272 kW of power. On launch, two different variants of the car will be available. The first one, which is going to be the cheaper of them all will be powered a petrol engine and uses a six speed manual transmission system. It is named as the M2 Pure while the next model in the series will use a seven speed automatic transmission and has dual clutch design.
According to the information available, the pricing of the BMW M2 Pure model will be $89,900 in Australia. While it may not be an exact conversion in the US and UK, trade analysts confirmed that it will be very close to the price tag in order to make it feasible for buyers in every region. The higher end variant will be priced at $98, 900.
All models will have Active M differential and M compound brakes. They use 19-inch alloy wheels. The features found inside the vehicle include a leather upholstery, carbon fiber trim, rear parking censors and reversing camera. These features help a lot because there are drivers who still find it tough to navigate tight spaces and dimly lit parking lots.
The cars are also equipped with bi-xenon neon lights, Connected Drive services and has a digital radio to keep you entertained on the go. The new version of the BMW M2 also includes adaptive headlights, high beam assist with anti-dazzle function, Harmon Kardonn music system and heated seats to beat the changing weather.
The company has officially confirmed that the BMW M2 models will go on sale towards the mid of 2016 next year. We can expect the vehicles to be showcased at the upcoming auto expos including the Geneva motor show and the ones that are scheduled to take place in the next three months or so. It is an exciting year for automobile enthusiasts without doubt!
