The brand new Peugeot 5008 is going places as the MPV market slowly falling apart.
With some radical changes, the car is about to become a large SUV with everything that you would ask for and more.
The newest update is that the Peugeot 5008 is about to be a large seven-seater SUV. According to the company, “the new car is the first ever SUV to offer modularity on a whole new level and provide passengers a luxurious ride. Going from the traditional MPV to the new era of SUV is a change that is demanded by the times. We are adopting to it in the most seamless way possible.”
At first look, the car looks similar to the 3008 but it is much bigger in size which has allowed the engineers to incorporate a lot of things in it. The front end is bulky that renders the SUV a boxy yet stylish look. If it is parked next the 3008, the Peugeot 5008 will look quite large in size and it is what the designers wanted to achieve.
Peugeot has used their i-cockpit design in the new car. The system designed by the brand is productive, efficient and easy to access. It comprises of a compact steering providing enough space for the driver to move around and access the infotainment system whenever required. It also includes a large 8-inch touchscreen display. The instrument cluster is 12.3-inches in size, big enough to display every information that you need to know on the go.
Instead of going totally digital, the i-Cockpit design in the Peugeot 5008 has seven chrome finished buttons. They allow you to control different aspects of the car while a brand new sensory system makes the ride more comfortable like never before. The car can now sense the situation to adjust the ambient lighting as needed, has massage seats and the in-car fragrance switches on/off whenever a bit of refreshment is required. Other features found in the top of the line variants include smartphone charging, LED headlamp and panoramic glass roof.
The Peugeot 5008 has about 1,060 liters of storage space when five seats are being used. Passengers can fold the front seat and other seats to increase overall cargo space. The model is powered by a 1.2-liter engine that renders 128 horsepower while the 1.6-liter engine delivers up to 163 horsepower. Peugeot has no plans to offer all-wheel drive at the moment.
