The Chevrolet Silverado High Desert next gen edition was launched at the 2014 Specialty Equipment Market Association Show and it took them nearly two years to bring the car to its fans.
The auto manufacturer has made the announcement official. The new Silverado High Desert receives brand new cosmetic changes. The 2017 edition’s performance might be close to what the company offered in its outgoing model but suspension is much better than it used to be. Trucks and vans are always not the best when it comes to enjoying an exquisite experience. However, the newer generation models are becoming better due to suspension upgrades. The 2017 version of the Silverado will receive such treatment.
It is also going to be the first in the lineup to receive a Magnetic Ride Control on a full sized truck from Chevrolet. The High Desert package is being offered in a wide range of models including the Silverado LT, the High Country and the LTZ. While we are yet to get the chance to drive it around and experience the suspension in person, it is obviously a notable change in the truck. Besides, the team has also updated it with fancy new exterior design and a brand new cargo storage system.
Speaking at the launch event, Sandor Piszar, director of Chevrolet truck marketing said, “The High Desert package brings a refreshing change to the truck with better capability and utility while the luxury of a suburban vehicle. For customers who want a secure lockable area combined with the comfort of a sedan, the new package will be an ideal add-on. It brings the best of both worlds set on a pickup truck bed.”
When you opt for the package, the truck gets upgraded to 20-inch wheels with all-season tires. They offer the best traction, grip and durability on every weather condition, be it hot or cold. The top of the line cars use 22-inch wheels with similar all-season and all-terrain tires. A bed mounted lockable storage system is found in the cargo combined with dual side storage bins. The large area is divided into different segments to store large and small items conveniently.
The 2017 Chevrolet Silverado High Desert package includes magnetic ride control for automatic suspension adjustment and it can detect the surface on which the truck is travelling to make minor tweaks in real time. The package is set to get launched towards the end of 2016.
