Fiat 124 Spider Roadster is a Stylish Debut at LA Auto Expo 2015

Based on the previously launched Mazda MX-5, the brand has launched the new Fiat 124 Spider Roadster at the Los Angeles Auto Expo 2015.

Earlier this year, the CEO of the company confirmed that a variant of the Spider is getting launched in the market which is going to be based on an existing Mazda car. As promised, the brand has unveiled the new car at the auto expo.

Some of the unique features of the newly launched car include a hexagonal grille, LED headlights which are caved in for a stylish curvature and the rear side has been completely modified to look contemporary. However, some design elements are borrowed from Dodge Viper, an old school model that modern day car lovers may be unaware of.

According to Fiat, their 124 Spider Roadster is defined by two distinct features that cannot be found in any cars, including the MX-5 on which is it based. The seagull wings are an exclusive feature of the car which has been designed to fall inwards towards the boot-lid so that it is easy to enter or exit the car in areas with minimal space. The second feature is the horizontal tail lamps inspired by the Fiat 500 Supermini.

The car is also equipped with twin exhausts, a spoiler and has all the features that a buyer would expect from a sports car. It’s not just the exterior, but the interiors of the Fiat 124 Spider Roadster borrow lots of design elements from Mazda MX-5. The inside has a 7-inch color display using which you can control the infotainment system and there’s a swivel wheel which makes it easier to navigate in the center console.

If you have to find a disadvantage in this amazing new car, there is one. The roof top doesn’t support automatic function. In order to lower it, you have to manually do it which is a bit of a difficult task especially when there is a sudden climate change.

The car uses a 1.4-liter turbocharged engine which delivers 160bhp. It is going to get launched in the United States, but there is no word from Fiat on possibly bringing the car to the rest of the world. It also includes Bluetooth, USB connectivity feature and a reverse camera making it easier to park for newbie drivers. You can choose to equip the amazing Fiat 124 Spider with a seven speaker Bose stereo system for additional cost.
