Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 – Top 5 Cars to Look Forward To

We are two weeks away from the Frankfurt Motor Show 2015 event, but we already know all the cars that will debut during the show.

Frankfurt is widely regarded as the largest motor show in the world, even though Detroit, Tokyo and Geneva draw bigger scoops. The sheer volume of Frankfurt Motor Show is astonishing.

This year, many experts believe that the SUV class will rock the event. Will this be the year that the SUV makes its way to Europe? The SUV segment is very popular in the US and Asia, but Europe consumers are still focused on family sedans. Despite some new SUVs, there will be sports cars and family cars that mark the show. Here are five of the most anticipated vehicles.

The S-Class Cabriolet that will debut during the Frankfurt Motor Show is expected to compete with the likes of Rolls-Royce Dawn and Bentley Continental GTC.

Audi Q6 e-tron

While the Q6 e-tron will debut at Frankfurt, the all-electric SUV will arrive at dealerships in 2018. But that will only build up the hype for a luxurious electric SUV that will take on the Tesla models. Audi markets the vehicle as E-Tron Quatrro concept, but it is widely known that the model that Audi will show at Frankfurt is the next generation Q6 e-tron. Slotted between the Q5 and the Q7 in the SUV range, the Q6 e-tron should provide 310 miles of electric range, little more than the Tesla Model X that will arrive in dealerships this fall.

Jaguar F-Pace

If you need more proof that this is the year of the SUV, Jaguar is here to remind you that even the big name players need the middle class consumers. The Jaguar F-Pace is Jaguar’s first SUV, a vehicle that has been in the rumors for quite some time now. This summer we got the first teaser images of the SUV and it looks like Jaguar is serious about competing with the likes of BMW, Mercedes and Audi. Jaguar can claim the company has one of the best looking SUVs on the market, with styling elements borrowed from XJ sedan and the F-Type coupe. We still haven’t seen the F-Pace without camouflage, but that will happen during the Frankfurt Motor Show where Jaguar’s SUV is expected to be one of the top attractions.

Bentley is another premium luxury brand that is releasing its first SUV. And in a true Bentley spirit, the company will offer the SUV with V8 and V12 engines, trying to revolutionize the premium SUV segment. With the V12 engine, the Bentley Bentayga will be able to eclipse the 200 mph mark, something that no SUV can do. And of course, those luxury perks come with a price, which is set at $200,000 for the time being. But that is just a base model, and with optional additions, the Bentley SUV can go twice as high.

For the family people out there, the Renault Megane is still one of the best sedan cars on the market. The 2015 Renault Megane will come as a five-door hatchback, with an estate version to follow. The Megane is sitting nicely in that middle class segment, but comes with premium and luxury features of higher brands. According to the initial spy photos, the 2015 Megane looks a Clio on the back, with some Laguna touches on it.
