The Honda 2016 Accord will be coming to the showrooms very soon. This Japanese maker has quite a history to its name, given that the Accord was introduced about 40 years ago.
However, over the entire period, this auto maker has been busy trying to come up with the perfect family car and it seems the answer lies in the 2016 Accord.
Durability and efficiency are driving Honda Accord sales
Reportedly, Honda sells over 300,000 Accords each year, thanks to the fact that the auto maker effectively combines durability and efficiency. The Honda 2016 Accord is no different from these models as far as these aspects are concerned.
The new mid-sized 2016 Accord will come with some tweaks to the exterior design in addition to a wide array of technological advancements including an infotainment system and safety features. The facelift doesn’t come as a huge surprise to this year’s Accord given that the current 9th-generation model was introduced two years ago.
Specifications
The 2016 Accord is a front-wheel-drive and it comes with two choices for engines. There is a 4-cylinder 2.4-liter engine that manages 185hp and another 3.5-liter V6 engine that manages about 277hp. All of these 4-cylinder engine models are equipped with variable transmissions, except for the base models. Honda will also be availing the 2016 Accord in two other variants; one will be a two-door model and the other a four-door hybrid.
As far as the redesigns are concerned, the new Accord will come with an added accent strip on its nose and narrower vertical dimensions for the headlights. In addition, there will also be additional stylish LED fog lamps; features that are meant to give this year’s Accord a modern touch. Other changes include new 18-inch allow wheels, LED taillights and a partially remolded rear-end.
The inside of the car is where the big news is. A new infotainment system has been installed. The new interface does not need a HDMI cable connection in order to hook your Android or iOS smartphone onto your car, instead, a USB cable is enough. You will enjoy using your favorite phone apps when driving the 2016 Accord thanks to the new support for the Android Auto and Apple CarPlay systems. Honda has reduced the number of dialing and switching to do by installing a new 7-inch display screen in the latest sedan.
The new model is also not short of driver-assist technologies. There is access to a Honda Sensing, safety suite that includes lane departure warning, emergency breaking system, lane-keeping assist, adaptive cruise control as well as road departure mitigation features.
The seats inside the car are leather and the front ones are fixed with a heating system. If you opt for the top level trim – Touring – you will also get heated seats in the back as well. There interior is also not short of space as it has an expansive 119 cubic feet, a 60-40 fold-down back seat that joins to a huge trunk, only adding more space for carrying cargo. In essence, the interior of the Honda 2016 Accord is a low-stress environment.
Honestly, the tweaks that Honda has included in the 2016 Accord have really made some real changes to this coupe.
Pricing of the 2016 Accord
The Honda 2016 Accord sedan will be available in five different trim levels; namely Touring, EX-L, EX, Sport, and LX. The prices of this year’s mid-size Accord sedan will vary from $23,000 to $36,000.
