Honda Ridgeline Debut Confirmed for Detroit Auto Show

While Toyota is a company associated with trucks all the time, Honda is going to be a new debutant to join the race with their surprisingly good Ridgeline all set for a grand debut at the Detroit auto show.

The company has been repeatedly teasing the arrival of the truck. But, they never specified an official release date or a launch timeline for the second generation variant of the popular truck line. After making buyers wait for a long time, it is now official. While the show is set to take place in the month of January next year, Honda has released teaser images of the truck to get people excited before it is shown in the show floor.

A couple of weeks ago, we had the chance to view the truck in some spy shots. As expected, they were not so clear and didn’t reveal much about its features. However, the design that was confirmed through those spy shots are now official, through the teaser images that Honda has bestowed upon us.

The first Honda Ridgeline debuted in the year 2006 which is almost a decade by now. Coming back to join the cream of trucks is no ordinary task for which the automobile manufacturer has decided to completely revamp the vehicle in order to reach their customer base.

Specifications of the upcoming truck have been officially confirmed. It will feature a 3.5-liter V6 engine, which offers more than enough power for the driver, rendering 280 horsepower, combined with 262 lb feet of torque. There will be six and nine speed automatic transmission systems to pick from.

In the past months, Honda has gone on with a complete revamp of all their existing crossovers and trucks. Everything right from the CR-V to Pilot and the HR-V is going through multiple changes like never before. It looks like the designers are keen to make the brand differ itself from its previous generation vehicles. Besides, every other maker is working on hybrids and plug-ins creating stiff competition for Honda in every segment like never before.
