Hyundai Equus 2017 Being Given International Makeover with Maximum Style and Comfort

Hyundai Equus 2017 is being given an international makeover with maximum style and comfort. The truly global new Equus is expected to be unveiled in the 2016 New York Auto Show.

The first model of Equus which lasted from 1999 to 2009 was manufactured jointly by Hyundai and Mitsubishi and was designed for the local South Korean market. The model was, however, sold in the Middle Eastern and Chinese markets too.

The 2009 model was again designed keeping in mind the domestic South Korean market; yet Hyundai launched it for the first time in North America, in an attempt to test the international markets. And now Hyundai seems set for an upgraded, stylish and truly global 2017 model to be launched in North America.

According to carscoops, while the prototype test car, which is being tested near Hyundai’s Nurburgring facility in Germany, is covered under the signature Hyundai camouflage, a few spy shots are available for viewing and what could be seen was that outward profile was sleeker and better-looking than the 2009 model and the Genesis style front grille was also clearly visible. The Equus 2017 will feature a novel multi-rear suspension which is fine-tuned by Lotus to deliver a more sporty drive.

In North America, the 5L V8 engine capable of delivering 420 horsepower and 518 Nm of torque and perhaps, an optional all-wheel drive connected to an 8-speed auto-transmission is expected to be available. Other markets are expected to be offered the V6 engines. The new Equus 2017 model is expected to be available with Hyundai’s V6 turbo engine and a hybrid version at some time in the future.

According to worldcarfans, the Equus 2017 model is designed to feature luxurious interiors with perforated leather seats and contrasting piping. The new upcoming sedan would come with high quality switchgears, metallic accents and elegant wood trim accentuating the opulence of the interiors. Other features to be included are ventilated/heated rear seats, Lexicon audio system and a metallic-wooden trim inspired by interiors of an Audi-8.

The steering wheel would feature a two-toned leather wrap, the infotainment system will have a wide display screen and the center console is expected to be redesigned for improved and added elegance.
