Lada is not a random new company but something that resulted in a huge partnership consisting of brands including Nissan and Renault. The two big automobile manufacturers are experimenting with their respective technologies using the Lada name. It has been designed from the scratch by Briton Steve Mattin. The person is known for making some of the iconic cars for Mercedes Benz and Volvo.

Speaking to the media, a representative of Lada said that the XCode concept is hugely inspired by Vesta and Xray models. The framework which has been successful with these cars has been used to design the concept. A surprising fact that is one of the models is a SUV while the other one is a saloon. It indicates that Lada wants to bring the best of both worlds in the same car.

The Renault-Nissan B0 platform is used to construct the chassis. The same platform is utilized by successful models like the Dacia Duster and Nissan Juke. When the best components, design and platform from popular models are used, the upcoming concept is supposed to be a runaway hit as soon as it gets launched.

During the Moscow Motor Show 2016 reveal, Lada announced that the car will use an all-wheel drive system and will use turbocharged engines. Specifics of the powertrain was not announced during the launch. We may have to wait many more months to come before the car goes into production and technical specifications are announced. The pricing will be higher when compared to the XRay SUV that went into production this year.
