Lamborghini Aventador S is About to Set a New Benchmark in Speed

The supercar brand is about to make things speedier again, this time with the Lamborghini Aventador S.

The company has sent out invites to the press for an event to be held in the month of January next year.

The information was first confirmed by patent filings made by the company. When it was still considered to be a rumor, Lamborghini confirmed that they are indeed going to launch the Aventador S, a speedier version of the car that is already in stores. To keep things under wraps, the marketing experts have decided not to reveal any photos of the car before the official launch. They have just added a line to the invitation that says, new design, superior power and the best combination of latest technologies in action.

The original Aventador was introduced in the year 2011 and is close to its midlife cycle. There is enough space for the auto brand to revamp and offer a more powerful version of the car, giving buyers the choice to pick between a conventional model and a ‘S’ version. The launch is set to take place at the Ricardo Tormo Formula 1 track where the press will be able to experience what the company calls as ‘active technology’. We expect it to be similar to Tesla’s Ludicrous mode that offers a huge speed bump while the car is on the move.

Regarding the new active tech, the Lamborghini spokesperson didn’t have any technical details to add to. The event is where the big reveal will take place and obviously the company will have lots of interesting things to share about their new car. The Lamborghini Aventador S is not a completely new model by any means but it has all the potential to put the brand back in action with its exceptional speed.

It is expected that the new car will deliver about 795 horsepower similar to the Centenario. The current model is powered by a 6.5-liter V12 engine. The new S edition is rumored to adopt the rear wheel steering system with an aggressive and front as well as rear end design. Based on the new naming tradition Lamborghini has been following, the car will make it a three variant lineup including the Aventador, Aventador S and the Aventador SV edition thus completing the cycle. Once the official launch takes place in a month’s time, we will know the official pricing and specifications of this brand new sports car.
