Leaked Images Show the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe in Full Glory

It’s been a while since we had a good C-Class Coupe. The last one was not something that car owners would get excited about, but judging from the first spy photos without camouflage, the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-class coupe will be one for the ages.

The coupe is expected to make its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show scheduled for September. Just one month before the official release, leaked images show the sports car in its full glory.

2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe

Much of the C-Class coupe resembles the look of the S-Class and the C-Class sedan. However, Mercedes has added few unique lines to the 2017 C-Class coupe, mainly to the two-door body. Some of the main differences include the bodyside creases. For the C-Class, Mercedes has added a lower crease running towards the door.

Inside, the C-Class coupe will feature a 2+2 layout of the seats. The dashboard will resemble closely one of the sedan versions. Mercedes’ engineers worked tirelessly in order to get all the luxury features of the S-class dashboard and implement them into the C-Class dashboard. However, it is unknown whether that will happen with the 2017 Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe. It is worth noting that the company has also altered the posture for the driver, making it lower than the one in the sedan version.

Mechanically speaking though, the coupe will have almost the same specs and performances as the sedan version. The new rear-wheel-drive platform that Mercedes developed will make its appearance in the C-Class coupe, as well as some of the advanced electronic driver features. The 2017 Mercedes Benz C-Class coupe will be powered by a 2.0 liter turbocharged engine which can go up to 241hp.

The new Mercedes-Benz C-Class Coupe will launch as a 2017 model and is expected to hit the saloons early in 2016. January and February are little far-fetched dream, but spring release is very possible. The AMG versions are expected to be released in the summer or likely the autumn. The C-Class coupe will have a lot of competitors when it hits the market next year. Among some of the more prominent rivals include the Lexus RC, the BMW 4, the Infinity Q60 and the Cadillac ATS Coupe.

Mercedes will offer two AMG versions of the C-Class coupe, the C450 AMG Sport and the C63 AMG. The first version will offer 362hp V-6 engine. The latter will be offered with a V-8 engine, the only one in the lineup. The 4.0 turbocharged engine of the C63 AMG will be available with either 469 or 503hp. Both AMG versions will have seven-speed automatic transmission.
