Limited edition car lovers have one more reason to rejoice as BMW has announced the limited edition 7 series to mark their centennial year in the auto industry.
The company has successfully completed 100 years and are offering something to mark the occasion.
Establishing a brand and running it successfully for a century is no easy feat but BMW has not just managed to accomplish it but has plenty of innovative ideas to keep their cars relevant in the future. They have the I series models with state of the art design, sporty finish and hybrid powertrains. The era of electric cars from BMW is not far away as the company has to prove themselves against the likes of Nissan, Ford and Tesla.
While a long road awaits the brand, BMW has announced the 7 series limited edition model. Only 100 of these cars will be built and it is going to be really tough to buy one if you live in the United States. There will be just 5 of the special edition 7 series available in the region. The name of the sedan is one of the largest in recent times. It’s the BMW Individual M760i xDrive Model V12 – Excellent the Next 100 Years.
There aren’t any groundbreaking changes made to it because it is all about badging the car with exclusive 100 year celebratory materials and add-ons. The car has a special Centennial Blue metallic color variant which is exclusive to the 100-year edition and not available in other 7 series models. The model uses 20-inch BMW individual alloy wheels.
BMW 7 series centennial edition bundles a blue colored Montblac fountain pen and the seats are covered with Merino leather. It is also used to design the upholstery and the edges use piano black trim with a matte finish. The blue and black color combination is used throughout the car to give it the much needed exclusivity.
The powertrain used in the model is a 6.6-liter V12 engine which has been manually tweaked so as to offer better performance. A total of 610 horsepower is produced by the engine which is higher than the 2017 BMW M760i offers. The stock model is slightly lesser at 591 horsepower. The limited edition can accelerate from 0 to 60 in 3.6 seconds.
BMW has confirmed that they are going to launch the car before the end of the year but there is no word on the official pricing.
