The brand has taken wraps off the car before the 2016 Geneva motor show reveal and detailed its specifications, engine types, besides releasing a couple of exotic images of the sports car.

With a striking blue color, the new Lexus LC500h is sure to entice car lovers. The car has been constructed on top of the brand new hybrid drivetrain layout that Lexus engineers have built over the years. The company aims to create a platform that is future proof and ready to accommodate electric batteries, a component which is slowly becoming inevitable in every next gen model.

Called the Multi-Stage Hybrid system, the platform will be used in all performance driven vehicles made by Lexus. The hybrid car is powered by a 3.5-liter V6 engine which is integrated with an electric motor so that it could borrow some additional power now and then to keep the ride going. It uses a four-speed automatic transmission system and the designers have managed to balance the weight by using a lightweight lithium ion battery.

The car is capable of delivering 295 horsepower and can easily reach 60 miles per hour below five seconds. Actual on-road performance of the Lexus LC500h can be determined only when it hits roads and reviewers are able to experience it in person. It runs on 20-inch alloy wheels while buyers have the option to go with bigger forged wheels if they choose to.

Even though, a lot of things sound next gen and exotic about the vehicle, the LC500h has lot of similarities with the LC500 V8. Except for the multi-stage hybrid platform and the blue Lexus badges, the coupe is exactly the same including the door skins, the aluminum bonnet and roof made of carbon fiber. Apart from these changes, the car will also be the first to make use of the GA-L rear-wheel drive architecture.

According to the brand, the new Lexus LC500h is their attempt to create a hybrid car which is not just emission friendly and fuel efficient but has an engaging driving experience for everyone on road. A total of 135 miles per gallon is expected to be delivered by the new coupe. The car doesn’t have a proper launch date or pricing but we will have all the information that we need and more once the 2016 Geneva motor show is underway.
