The list of cars heading to take part in the Los Angeles 2015 auto show is growing and the latest entrant to join the list is the Cadillac XT5 SUV.

Even before the show could begin, we have a couple of official images of the upcoming XT5 SUV released by the company. The car has been designed to compete and bring down the popular Audi Q5. The initial launch will take place in the United States after which it will be rolled out to the UK and European markets. The car will be available for U.S. customers in Spring 2016, but the company didn’t confirm an exact release date yet.

The upcoming Cadillac XT5 is going to replace the existing SRX lineup. While the company is not going to discuss about competition, it is evident that the car will be a direct competitor to some of the most popular offerings in the market including the Lexus NX, BMW X3 and the Mercedes GLC. Each one of these vehicles has their own customer base, which continues to grow every year and the automobile manufacturers are trying hard to woo them by offering something new with every launch.

In terms of design, the XT5 is a combination of ATS coupe and the Escalade which got released this year. But, the designers have done their best to keep the vehicle as compact as possible so that it is easier to drive it in rough terrain and streets which have little space to offer. The SUV sports a large chrome grille which is one of its trademark design and helps it standout of the crowd. The LED headlamps are equally sportier and stylish while the insides are equipped with leather as well as wooden materials to up the luxury quotient.

Gone are the days when you use simple rearview mirrors because the Cadillac SUV is equipped with a 300-degree rear view camera which displays everything it captures onto the rearview display. It makes it much easier for drivers to steer the vehicle and park it with little difficulty.

The U.S version of the Cadillac XT5 set to be revealed at the Los Angeles Auto Show will be equipped with a 3.6-liter V6 engine with 306 bhp. The car will also be sold in China and in the Middle East after its initial launch in the U.S. in 2016.
