Mercedes AMG E63 S Will Deliver 604 Horsepower

A dealer’s exclusive brochure got leaked on a German forum which revealed that the next Mercedes AMG E63 is going to set a new benchmark for street cars by offering a massive 604 horsepower.

The numbers are surprising for a street car but Mercedes and AMG is keen on bringing the best out of their model. The basic edition of the E63 offered 563 horsepower combined with 553 lb feet of torque while the tweaked up version, the E63 S delivers 604 horsepower coupled with 627 lb feet of torque. The model is powered by the same engine that powered the M177 engine, a twin turbo 4.0-lliter V8. The powerful engine is already used in the C63 and the C63 S.

The model is powered by a nine-speed automatic transmission system and the company’s proprietary 4Matic all-wheel drive. The leaked brochure revealed a lot of information about the car before its official announcement. It confirmed that the upcoming model is capable of accelerating from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 3.7 seconds. For safety concerns, these models will be limited to a maximum top speed of 155 miles per hour.

The existing Mercedes AMG E63 S is inferior when compared to the one, if we are to go by the leaked documents. The current model is powered by a 5.5-liter twin turbo V8 engine which renders 577 horsepower with 590 lb feet of torque. It’s not just low on horsepower but uses a seven speed transmission system. Newer models have confirmed that higher gear ratio has always led to better efficiency and performance. Mercedes obviously agreed with the claim and has increased it to a nine speed transmission in the upcoming version.

While it is still unofficial information, in their earlier statement, Mercedes representatives commented that the brand is looking forward to break the 600hp barrier with their new E63 models. They have already launched the E-class luxury sedan and it is probably E63 which is going to be announced at one of the auto expos. Rumors claim that the company has pitched the Paris auto show scheduled to take place in October as the venue for this announcement.

The Mercedes AMG E63 could set a new benchmark in the automobile industry which may make 600 horsepower as a basic norm. But, it will encounter plenty of competition from the Cadillac CTS-V with its 640 hp and the BMW M5 next gen which is rumored to go over the 600 hp mark.
