Audi took the Beijing auto expo by storm as the company proudly their most powerful TT RS ever made.
Boasting of amazing top speed, performance and a record breaking acceleration, it was easily one of the sportiest models at the show floor.During the London and the Beijing auto expo, Audi took to the stage to reveal their coupe and roadster versions of their popular model at once. The TT RS is no longer a sports car as it has officially joined the supercar territory and has received significant bump in terms of performance. The car will officially go on sale this autumn.
The RS Coupe is now really fast similar to the R8 and can easily accelerate from 0 to 62 miles per hour in a short span of 3.7 seconds. The top speed of the car is locked at 174 miles per hour. The roadster is much heavier in size and design but it is not far behind as the car can hit the same speed in 3.9 seconds.
The 2016 Audi TT RS is powered by a 2.5-liter five-cylinder turbocharged engine. It has been tweaked in such a way that it now delivers an increased 394 horsepower. The powertrain is available with both direct and indirect fuel injection options. The valve timing is variable with fixed firing order. While Audi has confirmed that they have kept the original sound to keep the engine feel home, they have managed to bump its performance without compromising on fuel efficiency.
On the rear, the car is equipped with a substantially bigger rear diffuser combined with two different elliptical tailpipes. The model uses organic light emitting diode, known as OLED for the first time to be used in its headlights. It emits less heat but is exceptionally powerful and will provide a clear vision for the driver. The front end has a hexagonal single frame grill. Buyers can choose to upgrade their car with Matrix LED headlights.
The interiors of the 2016 Audi TT RS are quite similar to the earlier models and very little change has been made in it. The car is equipped with a large center console with a 12.3-inch touchscreen display. It is termed as the virtual cockpit by the company and is accentuated with lightweight sports seats. It uses carbon ceramic brakes and forged alloy wheels. The coupe version supports a fabric roof which can be electronically lowered within 10 seconds.
