The BMW 225xe Active Tourer was never designed to impress the crowd and make them go awe with excitement.
Instead, it was a vehicle which was developed to make life easier for the average customer/driver with increased fuel efficiency, performance and more practical features than other models.
BMW UK has further revealed more information about this vehicle, including a possible price tag. The basic variant of the car is expected to be priced at £30,005 which is quite affordable, considering the fact that it is a hybrid vehicle with a petrol engine and an electric motor. If you are a Tesla fan, you could better skip it. For everyone else, 25 miles of travel on a full charge is more than enough for their daily commuting requirements. It reduces emission, contributes to the planet and helps the driver save some cash on increasing gasoline costs.
The BMW 225xe Active Tourer PHEV is powered by the proprietary DNA from the brand which delivers a cool 224 PS and the all-wheel drive makes it easier for you to scale elevated routes without difficulty. The dual engine powered vehicle could easily go from 0 to 62 miles per hour in just 6.7 seconds. The speed is considered to be decent, especially for people who don’t expect the car to win any races and offer them good acceleration plus top speed on a highway.
The manufacturer has been consistently branding the vehicle as the one for daily commuting with better fuel efficiency, performance and an affordable price tag. They definitely got this right and if you are looking for a car that doesn’t emit harmful gas into the environment, an electric one, like the 225xe is an ideal choice.
Mileage is one of the most important hurdles that electric vehicles have been facing for a long time now. However, models like the Nissan Leaf and the Chevrolet Volt has been pushing the numbers higher with every passing year. Tesla, the leading electric car manufacturer has also confirmed that they will be launching a budget friendly EV priced at $35,000 in the year 2019. It is expected to offer a massive mileage of 200 to 300 miles on a single charge.
Every other manufacturer is busy trying to offer better fuel economy so as to convince the buyers to go for their brand before Tesla could gobble the lion’s share in the market. Will they achieve their target in the next few years? Let’s hope so!
