Compact crossovers are preferred by consumers over SUVs because they are not so huge like conventional models yet have enough space to accommodate all their goods.
A couple of vehicles launched by luxury car manufacturers have witnessed enough success which has triggered them to come up with the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan crossover. The vehicle is set for a grand launch at the Frankfurt auto show, scheduled to take place on September 15. We will be there at the venue to cover the event and bring all the latest news you need. The list of vehicles scheduled for launch at this auto show is increasing at a rapid pace and Volkswagen will be one among the many ready to showcase their exquisite designs.
However, the newly released spy video reveals more about the 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan crossover design and build. Even though, the company has camouflaged their vehicle with stickers, the overall design easily reminds one of the CrossBlue concept revealed in 2013. Based on the video, we can conclude that it looks a lot like a mid-sized SUV.
Compared to the existing Tiguan model, the new one is sportier and has a stylish look. The diffuser at the rear is exceptionally stylish and something we haven’t seen in a Tiguan before. The height of the roof has been significantly reduced so as to provide a sleek look to the compact SUV. While the video hardly reveals the interior, rumors claim that the car will share a lot of similarities with the 2013 CrossBlue Coupe GTE. A large touch screen panel will be mounted in the middle while an instrument cluster will be placed below the panel.
The 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan crossover that has been captured in the spy video is a five seater vehicle. The company claimed that it will have enough headroom for every person in the car. For people with larger families, Volkswagen has plans to launch another Tiguan which is a seven seater and will have three individual rows to give enough room for the passengers.
While the manufacturer is yet to officially reveal more details about this vehicle, it is obvious that there will be a petrol and diesel variant on launch. Sources indicate that the new Tiguan crossover will be powered by a 2.0 liter four cylinder turbocharged engine.
The spy video is quite elaborate and should give you a brief idea on how the Tiguan looks. For an official launch, stay tuned for two weeks which is when the Frankfurt auto show kicks off.
