The next gen Mazda CX-4 is coming and it’s not long before every enthusiastic buyer will get a chance to look into it. The car is scheduled for a grand launch at the Beijing auto expo.
Right before the launch, the company has revealed official pictures of the model to give buyers a glimpse of what to expect. The coupe SUV has generated plenty of interest because of its innovative design and unparalleled performance. On paper, the idea looks promising and if the company could deliver things as promised, they may have a huge number of people waiting to buy it as soon as the car gets launched.
In the teaser image, it is easy to understand the design aspects the automobile manufacturer has gone with. It looks a lot like the Koeru concept showcased by Mazda. The particular concept model was debuted at the Frankfurt auto show in 2015. The designers have used the same long bonnet combined with a sharp LED front design with spacious grille and a sleek finish in the rear.
Most SUVs made by almost every manufacturer usually looks huge and is not popular among buyers because of lack of sporty looks. However, the new Mazda CX-4 SUV aims to change the perspective completely by being totally sporty and sleeker in appearance. The roof of the car is higher giving more headroom than what most passengers need. A third row is added to the model which allows seven passengers, five adults and two kids to be seated comfortably for long rides.
The CX-4 sits directly between the CX-5 and the CX-3, both in terms of pricing and usage scenario. The model is expected to be powered by a 2.2-liter diesel engine. It will be tweaked in a such a way to bring the best performance out of it. Even though, the company will be revealing the model at the Beijing show this, it won’t go to dealership stores at least until the mid of 2017.
The company’s head revealed that there are some practical issues that they have to overcome before selling the CX-4 in Europe. The base option will be powered by a 2.5-liter turbo engine which is capable of rendering 227 horsepower while more powerful variants is also in the cards. It may or may not make its way to the European market.
Other information with regards to the Mazda CX-4 remains wrapped for the moment. The auto manufacturer is looking forward to reveal them at the Beijing auto show. They will also discuss about its features, powertrain variants and probably pricing in different regions.
