Porsche has officially unveiled the 718 Cayman at the 2016 Beijing auto expo following the launch of the 718 Boxster.

Almost every auto manufacturer had a launch at the expo, be it a production model or a concept car.

The chassis of the car has been tweaked to achieve the best level of aerodynamics and the interiors are comfortable with good headroom despite the fact that the car is compact in appearance.

Similar to the previously launched Boxster, the Porsche 718 Cayman is powered by a turbocharged flat flour 2.5-liter engine. The powertrain renders a total of 350 horsepower coupled with 309 lb feet of torque. There’s also a base model of car which delivers lower performance pegged at 300 horsepower with 280 lb feet of torque. Optimized boost pressure is a new technology integrated in both engines to push them to maximum performance irrespective of driving conditions.

The base model of the Cayman can accelerate from 0 to 60 miles per hour in 4.5 seconds. The numbers are based on the car equipped with the PDK while there’s an optional Sport Chrono package. The package obviously costs additional but when used, it boosts the power of 718 Cayman S to achieve the same speed in 4 seconds. The top speed for the base model is 170 mph while the S model can go higher up to 177 miles per hour.

Air intakes are found on either side of the Porsche 718 Cayman and the side profile is very subtle. The front fascia is very muscular in appearance with slim, low headlights. They use Bi-Xenon LED headlights with four-point daytime lights. The black accent strip runs through the rear end of the car giving the Porsche logo a wider appearance. The taillights in the revamped model has four-point brake lights and three dimensional finish so that they are strikingly visible from every corner.
