PP-Performance Adds Power to Mercedes-AMG C63 and GT with no Physical Intervention

PP-Performance added power to the Mercedes-AMG C63 and GT with no physical intervention, thanks to the innovative ECU remapping capability of the new chip tuner.

The tuner’s inclusion boosts the power of the 4-L V8 engine taking the power of C63 S to 580 hp from 510 hp and Mercedes GT to a little less.

PP-Performance, an established German fine-tuning company catering to a wide range of premium brands such as Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini and Skoda, has developed a tuner which has the capability of enhancing the output power of a couple of vehicles from Mercedes’ Affalterbach plant including the C63 and GT.

The tuner’s intervention comes in the form of ECU remapping of the 4-L V8 engine, resulting in an enhanced output of 580 hp from 510 hp for the C63 S. By including a catless exhaust, the output power can jump to 610 hp while a sports filter in the PP-Performance can increase the output further to 613 hp and a peak torque of 769 Nm as against the standard 510 hp and 700 Nm.

Hence, the C63 S can reach 0-62 mph in 3.59 seconds, about 4 seconds less than the original non-chip-tuned C63 S. The maximum speed is also increased to 190 mph from the original 155 mph. All this is achieved without any changes done to the physical aspect of the Mercedes C63 S and hence the price remains the same at about $6260.

The Mercedes-AMG GT S can get only the chip tuning and the catless exhaust and hence the power is lesser than that of the C63 S by 3 hp. Peak torque is also lower than that of C63 S by 4Nm though these small differences are hardly going to bring down the performance of the chip-tuned Mercedes-AMG GT S. The GT S takes 3.4 seconds to accelerate from 0-62 mph and the maximum speed is 201 mph and all this at the unchanged price of $6040.

The chip-tuning package is available for the Mercedes-AMG C63, C63 S, GT and GT S models although the performance enhancement is much higher for the S models.
